Come Join Us Vernovis is looking for a high-potential Staff Accountant to join a fast-paced General Ledger team within the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional with 1‑2 years of experience who is eager to grow into a Senior Accountant role. The Staff Accountant will work closely with three Senior Accountants and gain exposure to corporate-level accounting processes in a high-volume environment. This role is ideal for someone who is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to take initiative. The organization is committed to developing talent and progressively expanding responsibilities as capability and performance grow. What You’ll Do Process and record cash transactions and prepare routine journal entries within the General Ledger. Perform monthly account reconciliations across approximately 600 balance sheet accounts, ranging from straightforward to moderately complex. Support corporate-level accounting activities, including postings related to general liability insurance, workers’ compensation, and employee health insurance. Assist in reallocating and improving reconciliation workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with Senior Accountants to ensure timely and accurate month‑end close processes. What You’ll Have Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. 1‑2 years of accounting experience (internships or entry‑level roles considered); open to strong recent graduates for a first professional role. Advanced Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables. Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment. Self‑driven, results‑oriented mindset with demonstrated accountability and follow‑through. Effective communication and problem‑solving skills to work cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders.
