Staff Accountant

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support the day-to‑day accounting operations of the organization. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month‑end and year‑end close processes, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting Prepare, analyze, and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Support management with financial analysis and reporting as needed. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely. Reconcile vendor statements, customer accounts, and resolve discrepancies. Assist with collections activities and cash application processes. Maintain accounting records in accordance with established policies, procedures, and internal controls. Month-End & Year-End Close Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries. Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules and reconciliations required for financial close. Account Reconciliations & Analysis Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger account reconciliations. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances. Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records. Compliance & Audit Support Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reports, and requested documentation. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting controls and process improvements. Qualifications Education Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience 2+ years of accounting experience in a Staff Accountant, Accounting Specialist, or similar accounting role. Experience with month‑end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting preferred. Benefits Salary range: $65,000–$75,000 per year. Eligible for discretionary bonuses. Includes medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
