About the Position

Folsom City Carpentry LLC is hiring for two positions:

1. Working Foreman
A hands-on leader who can run a jobsite, manage a small crew, keep the project moving, and maintain quality.

2. Foreman-in-Training
Someone with solid construction experience, strong work ethic, and the drive to learn how to lead crews and eventually run jobs.

This is a real opportunity for someone who wants more than just another construction job. If you have ever wanted to become a general contractor, start your own construction company, or learn how the business side of construction works, this could be a strong fit.

You will be working directly with the owner and learning how projects, crews, clients, scheduling, quality control, materials, and company growth actually work.

About Us

Folsom City Carpentry is a growing remodeling and construction company based in the Folsom / Sacramento area. We specialize in full apartment remodels, home remodels, ADUs, decks, pergolas, outdoor living spaces, and select commercial projects.

Most of our jobs are mid-size projects that run two to four months at a time. We usually have multiple projects going at once.

We self-perform most of the work, which means our crew needs to know more than just one trade. Framing, plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile, finish work, demo, punch work, and general problem-solving are all part of what we do.

We work primarily for investors, not homeowners, so our crews are trusted to get the work done without someone micromanaging every detail. That freedom comes with responsibility, quality, and accountability.

Responsibilities

For the Working Foreman role, you will be expected to:

• Lead a crew of approximately 3 to 5 workers
• Work on the tools daily and lead by example
• Lay out daily work and keep the crew productive
• Read the jobsite, identify priorities, and keep projects moving
• Check quality before work gets covered up
• Teach less-experienced crew members
• Coordinate with the owner on schedule, materials, and job progress
• Solve problems in the field without creating unnecessary delays
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsite
• Help make sure the job is done right the first time

For the Foreman-in-Training role, you will be expected to:

• Show up consistently and ready to work
• Take direction well and follow through
• Learn how to lead a crew and organize daily tasks
• Help keep the job moving
• Build skill across multiple trades
• Develop the judgment needed to eventually run jobs independently
• Lead by example through hard work, reliability, and attitude

What We’re Looking For

The right person does not need to have a perfect resume. What matters most is that you know construction, work hard, show up consistently, and take pride in the finished product.

You should have experience with some or all of the following:

• Framing
• Residential remodeling
• Rough-in plumbing
• Rough-in electrical
• Drywall
• Tile
• Finish carpentry
• Decks
• Pergolas
• ADUs
• Apartment remodels
• Full home remodels
• Layout
• Punch work
• General construction problem-solving

Strong candidates will be:

• Reliable
• Hard-working
• Honest
• Good with tools
• Comfortable working across multiple trades
• Able to lead by example
• Able to teach less-experienced workers
• Good at spotting problems before they become expensive callbacks
• Interested in long-term growth, not just a temporary job

What This Job Is Not

This is not a position for someone who wants to stand around and point fingers. This is a working foreman role. You will be on the tools, setting the pace, and helping the crew get the job done.

This is also not a good fit for someone who cannot show up consistently, cannot take responsibility, or claims to know the trades but cannot perform in the field.

We are looking for serious people who want to build something long-term.

Compensation

Pay is $20–$45 per hour , depending on experience, skill level, reliability, and ability to lead.

Foreman-in-training candidates will typically start on the lower end of the range. Experienced working foremen who can run crews, solve problems, and produce quality work will be considered for the higher end.

Hard work and results do not go unnoticed. The more value you bring to the company, the more opportunity there is to earn and grow.
