What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality patient care to adult patients in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
• Manage diverse conditions including AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, post-heart caths, stroke/TIA, spinal surgeries, and more
• Monitor and titrate IV medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (with manager approval if experience is lacking)
• Support the assessment and management of patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, lumbar drains, and dialysis
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including charge nurses, RT, hospitalists, and specialists
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Follow unit protocols and safety procedures, including EKG competency passing prior to start
• Assist with patient education and discharge planning

What You Need

Required:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or state where employed
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• At least 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in a similar setting
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Strong clinical skills in cardiac, stroke, and post-surgical patient care

Preferred:

• Experience with titratable medications, chest tubes, tracheostomies, dialysis, and lumbar drains
• Prior PCU experience in a hospital setting
• Comfortable working night shift and rotating schedule
