Cost Accountant

Vangst is partnering with a growing cannabis operator in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area to find an experienced Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This is a hands-on cost accounting p osition supporting cultivation and manufacturing operations. You'll own standard costing, inventory valuation, COGS analysis, and month-end close processes, working closely with operations and production teams to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting. What You’ll Do Develop and maintain standard costs, including labor, overhead, and material cost components. Perform inventory valuation, reconciliation, and month-end COGS analysis. Conduct variance analysis (standard vs. actual) and report on margins and cost drivers. Support physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and audit processes. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of month-end close. Partner cross-functionally with operations and production teams to identify and resolve cost What You’ll Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Hands-on cost accounting experience in a manufacturing, production, or inventory-based operating environment. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or NetSuite strongly preferred. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail. Cannabis industry experience is a significant plus, though not required. Compensation & Logistics $90,000-$110,000 base salary, depending on experience, + full benefits. Relocation assistance available for the right candidate. Full-time, in-office role in Scottsdale, AZ.
