Location Nyack, New York Position Details Department: 2 DoctorsShift: Day (7AM‑7PM) – includes weekdays, weekends, and holidaysScheduled Hours: 11.5 per dayPay: $55.40+ per hour (subject to shift differential, experience, education, and other factors) Job Summary The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for managing, delegating, coordinating, and providing nursing care through the nursing process. This involves effective communication with patients, significant others, and members of the multidisciplinary health‑care team. The RN assumes responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and care of patients of all ages (neonate to geriatric) and demonstrates understanding of developmental needs when planning and implementing treatment. The RN maintains clinical competence and meets defined standards of care for the area of practice. Responsibilities Systematically provide nursing care within the framework of the nursing process and established standards of practice. Integrate patient‑safety principles into direct nursing care and medication management. Adhere to established system‑wide communication standards and processes, including AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You). Participate in forums addressing patient care, education, policy, procedures, safety, and clinical outcomes. Document care accurately and update addendum age‑specific competency documentation. Maintain a courteous and respectful interaction with patients, visitors, and colleagues, and respond promptly to call lights and other patient needs. Demonstrate accountability, self‑directed work, and timely completion of projects and assignments. Participate in departmental and hospital‑wide activities that improve processes and outcomes. Use resources for ongoing professional development and comply with licensure and certification requirements. Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience preferred. National certification in area of practice preferred. On‑call experience required for OR, PACU, and Cath Lab; additional certification required for ED, SICU, MICU, 3 Doctors, Cath Lab, Endo, Labor & Delivery, Nursing Radiology, and SDS within 6 months of hire/transfer; PACU within 3 months. Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association required. Extended cardiology/critical care certifications: Emergency (ED), SICU, MICU, 3 Doctors, Cath Lab, Endo, Labor & Delivery, Nursing Radiology, SDS – 6 months; PACU – 3 months. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association required for ED, Nursing Radiology, and SDS (6 months); PACU (3 months). Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – American Heart Association required for Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and NICU (6 months). Oncology certifications: ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate, Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Fundamentals of Administration – Oncology Nursing Society required for the Infusion Center. Licensure & Certifications New York State Board of Nursing registration required. All certifications must be maintained and renewed per state and professional requirements.
