Senior Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to manage complex programmes from planning and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, while ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality, budget and schedule.


The successful candidate will oversee project scope, governance, risk, cost control, reporting and change management across multiple workstreams. Responsibilities will include coordinating internal teams, consultants, contractors, clients and regulatory stakeholders; reviewing designs and technical submissions; managing procurement and contract performance; monitoring progress against key milestones; and resolving commercial, operational and technical issues. You will establish clear project controls, lead progress meetings, maintain accurate documentation and provide senior-level updates on performance, risks, opportunities and forecast outcomes. A strong focus on health and safety, environmental compliance, sustainability and quality assurance will be essential throughout the project lifecycle.


Applicants should have significant project management experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering or related infrastructure sectors, together with a proven record of delivering large, complex capital projects. Relevant qualifications in engineering, construction, project management or a comparable discipline are desirable, along with professional accreditation where applicable. You will be commercially aware, highly organised and confident managing competing priorities in a regulated environment. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build effective relationships and motivate multidisciplinary teams. Experience with NEC or other major forms of construction contract, project governance frameworks, risk management and cost forecasting would be advantageous. The role may involve travel to project and construction sites, and candidates should be comfortable working collaboratively across office and site-based environments.
