About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the transition from proven science to industrialized production, with a focus on standardizing the manufacturing platform and leading the development of in-house atmospheric return capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical vision and execution across aerospace systems, software, automation, and manufacturing. This leadership role requires the CTO to build and scale a multidisciplinary engineering organization, establish engineering culture, technical standards, and processes that foster rapid, yet reliable, development. The ideal candidate will have a strong STEM background, experience in end-to-end complex hardware development, and a proven track record of real startup experience, particularly in a resource-constrained, high-stakes environment. Applicants for the CTO position at the company should be prepared to take on a role that demands a high level of technical and strategic involvement. The role is not for a traditional executive but for a hands-on leader who can operate with the agility and innovation of a founding team member. Non-negotiable requirements include a STEM background in a relevant field, a history of personally building and shipping complex hardware, and a deep understanding of vehicle-level systems and first-principles engineering. The CTO will be expected to have a strong presence in strategic and fundraising discussions and to be the technical counterpart to a technical CEO.
