Work Environment

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday during regular business hours, although flexibility is required for occasional evenings or weekends based on patient needs. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical evaluations and pain assessments to accurately diagnose the underlying causes of patients’ pain, taking into account physical, psychological, and social factors that influence health.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create personalized, evidence-based treatment plans that may include pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches.
• Provide ongoing management and support for patients suffering from chronic pain conditions, focusing on improving functionality, minimizing pain intensity, and enhancing overall quality of life.
• Address acute pain cases from injuries, surgeries, or procedures, using established protocols to alleviate discomfort and stimulate healing processes.
• Effectively prescribe and manage medications for pain relief, tailoring approaches according to individual patient preferences, while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of treatment.
• Perform and oversee interventional procedures, including nerve blocks and epidural injections, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
• Educate patients on various pain management strategies, self-care techniques, and lifestyle modifications that empower them in their journey towards better health.
• Document patient care thoroughly in our electronic health record (EHR) system, maintaining accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and patient interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily focus on a diverse patient population, including those with chronic pain conditions such as back pain, arthritis, neuropathic pain, and post-surgical pain management. Your role is to advocate for patients, working closely with them to develop individualized care plans that respect their unique circumstances and needs.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, with subsequent certification as a Physician Assistant.
• A valid and active state medical license in good standing.
• Strong clinical acumen in assessing and managing pain, with expertise in evidence-based practices for pain management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with patients and colleagues alike.
• A compassionate approach, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards those experiencing pain and discomfort.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Critical thinking and strong diagnostic skills, ensuring accurate interpretations of complex medical information.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in pain management or related specialty is highly desirable.
• Board certification in Pain Medicine or relevant subspecialties.
• Completion of residency training and fellowship in Pain Management.

Compensation and Benefits
