Work Environment

As an onsite physician assistant at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Austin, you will work closely with a diverse team of healthcare professionals including physicians, physical therapists, and mental health specialists. The position is primarily full-time with a commitment of 40 hours per week, although part-time opportunities with flexible schedules are also available to suit your lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients experiencing chronic pain. This includes reviewing extensive medical histories, performing detailed physical examinations, and assessing the intensity and nature of pain symptoms.
• Treatment Planning: Collaborate with our diverse medical team to devise personalized pain management plans. You will employ a variety of treatment modalities, such as pharmacological management, physical rehabilitation strategies, and interventional procedures, tailored specifically to each patient's needs.
• Patient Education: Facilitate educational sessions with patients to discuss their conditions, outline available treatment options, and empower them with pain management techniques that promote active participation in their recovery journey.
• Procedural Assistance: Skillfully assist in pain management interventions, including but not limited to epidural injections, nerve and joint blocks, ensuring the highest standard of patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
• Follow-up Care: Provide ongoing monitoring of patient outcomes, making necessary adjustments to treatment strategies based on individual progress and patient feedback, while offering continuous support and counseling.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals suffering from chronic pain conditions, ranging from musculoskeletal issues to neuropathic pain. Many of our patients are seeking relief after exhausting traditional treatment avenues. Your role will not only involve providing clinical care but also addressing the emotional and psychological aspects of chronic pain management by supporting patients through their healing process.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or an equivalent accredited program.
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in Texas.
• Certification in Pain Management or a related specialty is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated expertise in pain management or a closely related field.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect with patients and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to delivering compassionate care aimed at achieving the best patient outcomes.

Preferred Experience

• Prior clinical experience in a pain management setting or related clinical environment.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and data management systems relevant to patient care and treatment tracking.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams within a hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits
