Work Environment

This onsite position is based in Austin, Texas, a city known for its vibrant community and rich culture. The surgical center fosters a collaborative work environment, emphasizing teamwork among multidisciplinary healthcare providers. With typical working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, our staff enjoys a balanced work-life dynamic, free from weekend obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with supervising physicians to deliver independent healthcare services, ensuring comprehensive surgical care.
• Perform thorough assessments, examinations, and diagnoses, tailoring treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
• Facilitate smooth transitions for patients across various care settings through effective communication and coordination.
• Manage daily patient rounds, documenting observations and necessary orders to enhance patient care efficiency.
• Assist during surgical operations, including minor procedures and first assisting in laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.
• Provide essential pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and their families, ensuring a clear understanding of care expectations.
• Produce detailed reports and analysis to maintain a high level of clinical excellence, reflecting both organizational values and state regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will provide care to a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric patients, ensuring all individuals receive personalized and thorough treatment. This role is essential in addressing varied surgical needs and is integral to delivering high healthcare standards across the board.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.
• Current board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Valid state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant and a valid DEA License.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification or the willingness to obtain it within 12 months of hiring.

Preferred Experience

While we encourage applications from new graduates, candidates with a minimum of two years of advanced practice experience in surgical or hospital medicine and prior experience in the operating room (OR)—especially in laparoscopic and robotic assistive roles—are strongly preferred. This experience will enable candidates to quickly adapt to the demands of the position, ensuring both patient safety and positive outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

The Physician Assistant role offers a competitive salary range of USD 140,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition, the position is eligible for a full range of benefits, including:
