Work Environment

Your work environment will be dynamic and supportive, situated within a state-of-the-art hospital setting. You will collaborate with a team of experienced orthopaedic surgeons, registered nurses, and support staff dedicated to providing comprehensive patient care. The scheduled hours are Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts, ensuring work-life balance with no weekend commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced practitioner care to orthopaedic patients under the guidance of specialty physicians, focusing on diagnostic, therapeutic, procedural, and preventative measures.
• Conduct thorough examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans, including interpreting radiology reports and lab findings.
• Manage patient histories, write prescriptions, and oversee therapy orders while assisting in surgical procedures.
• Coordinate and provide patient management services across various stages of care, including inpatient services, pre-procedure preparation, and post-operative follow-ups in both hospital and outpatient clinic settings.
• Engage in patient education and advocacy, ensuring patients understand their conditions and treatment options.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will encompass care for a diverse patient population, ranging from adolescent athletes to elderly individuals requiring joint replacement surgeries. You will address a variety of musculoskeletal issues, ensuring evidence-based practices and personalized care plans that optimize patient recovery and enhance overall health outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• A valid state license as a Physician Assistant in Texas.
• National certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Possession of a DEA certificate, or the ability to obtain it within three months of hire.
• A minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience as a PA, with relevant experience in the orthopaedic specialty preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Recent clinical experience specifically in orthopaedic procedures related to surgical assistance.
• Experience with wound care management and the complexities associated with urgent referrals.
• Ability to effectively learn and assist with surgical operations under the direct supervision of attending orthopaedic surgeons.
• A dedicated fellowship or advanced specialty training in orthopaedics may be considered as part of your experience.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range between USD 120,000 and 160,000 annually, accompanied by a performance-based bonus structure.
