Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity, Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department with 20 beds, 5 trauma bays, 10 observation beds, and a 6-bed Fast Track area
• Manage and care for patients presenting with trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, strokes (including TPA administration), and other critical conditions
• Administer and monitor all common drips associated with a Level I Trauma environment
• Read and independently interpret telemetry/cardiac monitor strips
• Float to the observation unit and a freestanding Emergency Room at least once per week as needed
• Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, and ancillary staff including nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Recent experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Ability to pass a facility-administered open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
• Compliance with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility and must not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred
• Experience in a Pediatric Certified or Comprehensive Stroke Center environment
• Familiarity with fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department workflows including trauma, stroke, and observation care
