Fabrication Manager

Position Summary:Manages Fabrication to ensure all safety and quality processes are delivering on company objectives. Provide leadership and expertise to fabrication to achieve all production targets, yields, labor and performance to achieve goals (KPI’s).Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provide leadership for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term departmental objectivesPromotes a safe working environment following company, state and federal safety policies, regulations and lawsCoordinates, manages and monitors the productivity of the supervisors within the Fabrication departmentManages all carcass breaks and specifications to achieve quality and yield targetsLead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams and develop an effective production teamImprove processes and policies in support of organizational goals for all departments for quality and customer serviceEnsure that department meets national and international compliance standardsImplement quality improvement principles to the production process and increase employee productivityCoordinates with the quality assurance personnel to ensure acceptable standards and generates positive feedback from customersPrepares and controls operational budget plans and effective strategies for profitabilityAssist in the development of strategic plans for operational activities and operational capitalFacilitate coordination and communication between IT, HR, Accounting and Finance departmentsSupervise all staffManages all administrative functions for the department, such as crewing levels, job cross training and development plans.Report daily results and initiativesDirecting work, appraising performance, rewarding and correcting employees, addressing complaints and resolving problemsManages yields testsQualifications:Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a beef processing plantStrong organizational interpersonal & communication skillsBilingual important but not necessaryMust be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the USHigh School Diploma or GED with College education preferred but not requiredMust be able read, write, and speak EnglishMust be able to communicate effectively in a diverse workforce and with upper managementCritical thinking, problem solving, planning and organizational skillsAcceptable Microsoft Office skillsEffective Communication skillsTeamworkConflict ManagementIndustry relevant experience and extensive knowledge of beef cuts in production process10+ years relevant experiencePhysical Ability:Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 poundsPerforming physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and stooping, as needed.Standing for long period of time.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
