Overview Procurement Category Manager - Semiconductors at Motorola Solutions. Hybrid role – candidate must reside in the Chicagoland area with the ability to work from the office as needed. Responsibilities Lead a global, cross-functional team in developing and executing a cohesive category strategy in semiconductors, including developing a supplier base to meet evolving requirements, analyzing market trends, and guiding long-term commercial strategy. Lead supplier negotiations within a strategic contractual framework, managing NDAs and supplier agreements. Manage overall supplier relationships, including performance, capability development, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, and cost/quality improvements. Identify cost savings through negotiations, event-driven activities, and alternate sourcing to meet cost reduction goals. Ensure component supply assurance by maintaining an appropriate Preferred Manufacturer List with relevant manufacturing capabilities and scale. Monitor current commodity market conditions to identify potential supply challenges and develop supply continuity plans. Lead the Strategic Component Team (SCT) to drive projects that improve cost, quality and delivery; initiatives include supplier footprint expansion, roadmap alignment, design rule libraries, supplier capability metrics for designer and supplier selection, and part design manufacturability to foster cost-conscious design. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Excellent contract negotiating skills and understanding of key commercial terms and conditions. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to engage at various management levels, including internal and external executives. Team-oriented, self-motivated, and able to lead with integrity. Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Experience managing complex strategic sourcing projects. Direct experience as a Procurement Category Manager for complex semiconductors is preferred. 5+ years of procurement or related experience is preferred. Basic Requirements 3+ years of experience in procurement or related field. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely; employer sponsorship is not available.
