Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10:30 - 23:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current State License Required Certifications: CPR Must-Have: Recent acute care experience (1-2 years) Ability to assess, plan, delegate, and coordinate nursing care Experience in emergency situations and life-threatening scenarios Description: Serving the local community in a 170-bed facility. The facility is Joint Commission Accredited and an Accredited Chest Pain Center. It also has an AHA Stroke Program Award. Services offered include lab, radiology, respiratory, emergency department, cardiology, ENT, lung care, gastroenterology, general surgery, inpatient rehabilitation, endoscopy, and more. The role involves assessing, planning, delegating, and coordinating nursing care for assigned patients throughout the scheduled shift according to the plan of care. Collaboration with other members of the healthcare team is essential. Identify both actual and potential needs/problems through nursing assessment to facilitate an organized and prioritized plan of care. Supervise and make patient care assignments to other members of the nursing team. Assignments are based on acuity and staff proficiency. Recognize and respond to emergency situations appropriately. Document assessment, plan of care, interventions, and educational needs of each patient. Document patient and family responses to interventions. Deliver patient care activities according to standards of care and practice. Administer medications and treatments, including initiation and maintenance of IV medications and blood products. Maintain a safe patient and working environment by adhering to infection control and safety policies and procedures. Receive physician orders, document, follow up, and evaluate patient outcomes. Ensure that orders are carried out properly according to policy.
