L1 / L2 IT Systems Engineer

AllSector Technology is growing, and we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated IT professionals to join our team as Level 1 or Level 2 MSP Engineers.

This is not a role where you will spend every day doing the same repetitive tasks. As an L1/L2 Engineer, you will be at the heart of our client operations, providing comprehensive support that blends remote help desk calls with scheduled on-site client assistance. Beyond daily support, you will have the opportunity to directly assist senior engineers with complex client project implementations, gaining valuable real-world experience across a wide range of industries.

Responsibilities

While supporting our customers is the core of the position, our engineers are encouraged to become involved in much more than ticket resolution.

Core Technical Support:

• Provide friendly, timely, and expert remote and onsite technical support to AllSector managed services clients.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Windows desktop/server environments, hardware, applications, and peripherals.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications, Exchange Online, and core Azure/Intune services.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access issues within Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Resolve networking, VPN, Wi-Fi, firewall, and connectivity issues.
• Utilize RMM and monitoring platforms to proactively respond to alerts and investigate potential client issues before they escalate.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding ticket status, updates, and resolutions.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation in IT Glue and create/update ConnectWise service tickets.

Projects & Advanced Initiatives:

• Assist senior engineers with client technology projects, such as Microsoft 365 migrations and infrastructure upgrades.
• Participate in internal technology, automation, and AI initiatives.
• Help test new scripts, workflows, software integrations, and plugins in real-world environments.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks using platforms like Rewst.io.

Qualifications

We do not expect candidates to be experts in every technology listed below, but you must demonstrate a strong technical aptitude and a genuine desire to learn and research unfamiliar technologies.

• Travel to clients

Travel Requirements:

• This position may require occasional travel to client locations for on-site technical support, project implementations, installations, troubleshooting, and other client-related activities as needed. Most work will be performed remotely or from the AllSector Technology office; however, candidates must be comfortable providing on-site support when circumstances require it.
• Travel is primarily expected within the local/regional service area, with advance notice provided whenever practical. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation for travel to client locations.

Education & Professional Development:

• College degrees and industry certifications are a plus, but equivalent hands-on experience, home labs, and technical projects are valued equally.

Position-Specific Experience Levels:

Level 1 Engineer

• Experience: 0–2+ years in professional IT.
• Technical Foundation: Solid understanding of desktop and end-user support, Windows 10/11 troubleshooting, Microsoft 365 fundamentals, basic Active Directory/Entra ID knowledge, and core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPNs).

Level 2 Engineer

• Experience: 2–5+ years in professional IT (previous MSP or multi-client support experience preferred).
• Advanced Skills: Advanced Windows desktop troubleshooting and Windows Server administration; proficiency in Microsoft 365/Azure administration, Intune, and Group Policy; comprehensive understanding of networking (VLANs, firewalls, complex troubleshooting) and experience with RMM, Backup, and Endpoint Security platforms.
