POSITION PURPOSE

The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the Company’s day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, audit coordination, and related accounting functions. This is a hands-on leadership position that reports to the Chief Executive Officers and works closely with Company leadership to provide accurate and timely financial information while managing, mentoring, and supporting the Accounting team.

This is a  local hybrid position based in Simpsonville, South Carolina ; it is not a fully remote position. The selected candidate must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the corporate office and be available to work onsite during the initial training period and thereafter as required by business needs. Striking Brands is currently operating on a hybrid schedule through the 2026 holiday season, after which the work arrangement will be reassessed. The onsite and remote schedule may change based on training requirements, departmental responsibilities, company operations, and business needs.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assumes overall responsibility for the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of reconciliations, journal entries, financial statements, and related reporting, with monthly close reporting completed by the 10th of each month.
• Assists with developing Company strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations.
• Coordinates the financial needs of departments by communicating and collaborating with staff.
• Assists with the administration and renewal of the Company's insurance policies and supports financial and risk-related activities as needed.
• Manages the annual multi-department budgeting and consolidation process, working directly with department leaders to develop, monitor, and analyze departmental budgets and variances.
• Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
• Reports financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvements.
• Manages and mentors the Accounting Team.
• Oversees the procure-to-pay process.
• Ensures inventory quantities are accurate and maintains the Company’s internal costing structures.
• Monitors and properly tracks all in-transit inventory.
• Supports corporate-owned gym with tracking expenses and monitoring financial results.
• Serves as the primary liaison between the Company and external auditors and tax preparers; coordinates the annual audit process, ensures PBC requests are fulfilled in a timely manner, and keeps the external audit on schedule.
• Prepares and supports domestic and international financial reporting, including accounting for foreign currency transactions and related financial activity.
• Assists with producing the Company’s annual Franchise Disclosure Document.
• Prepares, produces, and presents the Company’s Monthly Operating Report (MOR) to leadership, clearly communicating financial results, key trends, budget variances, and other significant findings or recommendations. Prepares other monthly management and financial reports as needed.
• Serves as a backup for processing payroll for the Home Office and corporate-owned gym.
• Manages the various ad hoc reporting needs of the business.
• Oversees accounting activity and financial reporting related to wholesale operations and merchant accounts, including reconciliations, transaction activity, and related reporting.
• Supports the financial reporting needs of franchisees across Striking Brands systems.
• Performs additional duties as assigned, as this list does not reflect all the duties and responsibilities of the Senior Accounting Manager.

Skills:

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of domestic and international financial reporting, including foreign currency transactions.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including the ability to research accounting guidance and support the Company's audited financial statements, Franchise Disclosure Document, and related documentation requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, with expert-level Microsoft Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, lookup functions, data analysis, reconciliation of large data sets, and the ability to manipulate and interpret complex financial data.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• CPA preferred, but not required.

Experience:       

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least three years in an Accounting Manager, Senior Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, or comparable accounting leadership role, is strongly preferred. Candidates must have demonstrated hands-on responsibility for month-end close, financial reporting, multi-department budgeting, audit coordination, and supervision of accounting staff. Experience with inventory accounting, costing, wholesale operations, and merchant-account reconciliations is strongly preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Works primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to maintain regular and consistent attendance.
• Overtime may occasionally be required to meet deadlines.
