Blood Collection Staff - Customer Service

Requirements – Location Candidate must reside in one of the following locations in Michigan: Algonac, Allenton, Anchor Bay, Anchorville, Armada, Chesterfield, China Township, Clay Township, Clinton Township, East China, Emmett, Harrison Township, Macomb, New Baltimore, Port Huron, Ray, Richmond, Riley, Roberts Landing, Romeo, Troy, Utica, Washington. What You Need to Know When you join our team you will use your healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist in every step of the blood collection process. This includes transporting and setting up equipment at collection sites, creating a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and following all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations. We provide paid phlebotomy training; no prior medical experience is required. Key Responsibilities Take the time to personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand how impactful their donation is. Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so that donors feel comfortable returning. Remain detail oriented throughout the day to ensure collected blood meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused. May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites; position may require a minimum height of 60 inches. Standard Schedule Variable schedule Rotating weekends Work may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel in some locations. Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance. Pay Information Starting rate $19.38/hour. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required. A current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required. Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing, or pulling heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods, and adapting to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes; position may require a minimum height of 60 inches. All staff work as a team to set up and tear down equipment for mobile blood drives. Basic computer skills are required and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is necessary. Preferred Qualifications Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.). Prior leadership experience. Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision plans.
