See more about our benefits and why DG is a great place to work below.We are seeking a skilled Conventional Machinist to join our machining team. In this role, you will set up and operate manual machining equipment to produce precision aerospace components used on aircraft around the world. This position is ideal for a machinist who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys working from detailed blueprints, and values accuracy and quality. You will play a key role in supporting production by ensuring parts are machined to exact specifications while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.Responsibilities:Set up and operate conventional machining equipment including manual mills, lathes, drill presses, and band sawsFabricate and machine components according to engineering drawings and specificationsRead and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining operationsMonitor machines during operation and make adjustments to maintain precision and efficiencyPerform routine in-process inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and qualityTroubleshoot machining issues and make corrections to maintain production flowAdjust machines for changeovers, new setups, or varying production requirementsAdhere to all DG safety protocols as directed by company policies and the Facility Engineer/Safety Director.Perform additional tasks assigned by managementMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED required (Trade School or machining certification preferred)Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience operating conventional machining equipmentExperience setting up and operating manual mills and lathesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsExperience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometersAbility to visualize machining processes and part flowAbility to lift up to 25 pounds and remain standing for extended periodsBasic computer skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishPreferred Qualifications (Nice to Have, Not Required):Prior aerospace manufacturing experiencePre-Employment Requirements:All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen, in accordance with company policy and applicable law.Why You'll Love Working Here:We are a multi-generational team with members representing a diversity of cultures, educational backgrounds, experience levels and ideas all'making it happen' from one location in beautiful, coastal South Florida.
