Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and 1+ years of experience for a 13-week acute care assignment at a Level II trauma center.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within a Level II trauma center
• Speech Pathology department serving inpatient, outpatient, and rehab populations
• Outpatient caseload up to 9 patients per day, inpatient up to 13 per day, rehab caseload varies
• Treats stroke, TBI, neuro, trauma, and cognitive impairment patients, including swallowing difficulties
• Bedside swallow study experience required, video swallow study experience preferred
• Works alongside rehab aides, OTAs, and PTAs who assist with therapy
• Cerner Powerchart EMR used for documentation
• 8-hour day shifts, typically Tuesday-Saturday from 8:30a-5p, though schedule may vary (e.g., Wed-Sun or Thu-Mon)
• May float to other assigned areas as needed
• Weekend requirements vary by need

Requirements

• Active CCC-SLP certification through ASHA
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist required
• Prior travel and trauma experience preferred
• Active state or compact license required for the state of submission; license required if applicable
• Experience with bedside swallow studies required

Additional Information

• Assess and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing impairments
• Collaborate with rehab aides, OTAs, and PTAs as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Complete 1.5 days of department-specific orientation, including Cerner training if needed
• Uniform requirements include a maroon polo shirt, dark-colored pants, and closed-toed shoes; lab coat optional
• Holiday coverage is not required
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on inpatient clinical experience
