JOB TITLE:

Human Resources Generalist

Pay: $60,320 annually

Position Summary

The HR Generalist supports all Human Resources services, policies, and programs for our client, reporting to the VP of Logistics & President. This role develops and maintains a qualified applicant pool to meet the company's recruiting and hiring goals, administers day-to-day HR processes such as new hire onboarding, benefits, and HRIS record-keeping, and serves as the primary HR point of contact for employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter all requisitions into the HRIS system to fulfill future hiring needs.

• Send all pre-employment paperwork to Corporate HR for screening.

• Perform recruiting duties, including screening applicants and conducting interviews.

• Develop and execute recruiting plans as set by Executive Management.

• Develop and maintain a qualified applicant pool.

• Post job ads online and in print as needed.

• Conduct New Hire Orientation for all Bennett new hires and contingent employees.

• Ensure all new hire paperwork is completed correctly and submitted to Corporate HR in a timely manner.

• Administer employee benefits and answer employee benefits questions.

• Assist Corporate HR with the annual Open Enrollment process.

• Assist employees with the HRIS system, including time clocks, benefits, and username/password issues.

• Administer all pre-employment and random drug screens and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.

• Serve as the point of contact for all employees on HR-related duties, including personnel issues, payroll, and benefits.

• Assist Corporate HR with employee discipline and corrective action.

• Issue employee badges to new hires and issue replacement badges to existing employees.

• Complete all reporting as needed by Executive Management.

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for all positions within Bennett Distribution Services.

Essential Functions (ADA)

• Regularly and reliably manage full-cycle recruiting activities, including entering requisitions into the HRIS,

screening applicants, and conducting interviews.

• Accurately process new hire paperwork and conduct New Hire Orientation for all new and contingent employees.

• Administer and explain employee benefits programs, including supporting the annual Open Enrollment process.

• Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date HR records, including pre-employment and random drug screening documentation.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on HR-related matters, including

personnel issues, payroll, and benefits questions.

• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with employees, candidates, and Corporate HR.

• Exercise sound judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality (rated 5 of 5 on the position's confidentiality

scale) when handling sensitive personnel and disciplinary matters.

• Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance to support onsite HR service delivery during scheduled hours

(Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.).

• Remain at an assigned workstation for extended periods, with heavy, sustained use of a computer and telephone

throughout the shift.

Qualifications

Required: Four-year degree or higher.

Experience

Required: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning,

recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement, and employee development.

Preferred: Minimum 3-5 years of H R experience

Certifications

Preferred: SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification

Technical Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Working knowledge of HRIS (Human Resources Information System) platforms.

• Knowledge of benefits administration processes and procedures.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel between buildings and to local/offsite locations; no domestic or international travel required. Frequent in

house meetings, with occasional local onsite and offsite meetings; no domestic or international meeting travel.

Physical Requirements

• Primarily sedentary work; sitting for the majority of the workday (heavy), with light standing, bending, and

climbing, and moderate walking.

• Light, occasional lifting and carrying (specific weight not indicated in source materials).

• Heavy, sustained use of a computer/workstation and telephone throughout the day; light use of fax equipment.

Working Conditions

Standard indoor office environment with no notable exposure to cold, heat, wet conditions, humidity, noise, vibration, heights, fumes, or dust. Standard schedule of 40+ hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (day shift).
