Data Center Support Specialist

Salary: $85,000 - 125,000 per year Requirements:

• Active or recent U.S. government Secret security clearance
• At least 3 years of system administration and/or data center support experience, preferably in an Army Enterprise environment
• Familiarity with security and data center management procedures
• IAT Level II certification or higher
• Windows Server operating system training preferred
• College degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field preferred
• Ability to bend, stoop, sit, and walk or stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including horizontally and vertically
• Near vision acuity to review written documentation
• Ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and over the telephone
• Manual dexterity to operate a telephone and keyboard
• Must meet government eligibility requirements for access to classified information

• Resolve hardware, software, and general IT issues involving complex IT systems and applications
• Perform routine electrical and HVAC operations related to standard data center duties
• Prepare, install, diagnose, troubleshoot, replace, and decommission equipment
• Use ticketing systems to complete assigned data center tasks and provide technical assistance to customers
• Troubleshoot network issues using an understanding of interactions among network, storage, and server equipment
• Update data center Standard Operating Procedures and records, including rack elevation diagrams, floor plans, cooling, space, and power information
• Support change management by providing subject matter expertise and implementing changes approved by the change management board
• Conduct routine data center inspections to maintain and improve physical security
• Update data center records on the SharePoint site and assist with documenting those records
• Use the Army Portfolio Management Solution to update information on IT investments, capabilities, and systems supporting mission-critical, mission-essential, and mission-support operations
• Conduct routine inventories as directed by the data center manager to account for data center assets
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain servers, storage devices, peripheral equipment, software, and related systems
• Resolve an average of approximately 40 tickets per month
• Assist with routine basic cleaning of the data center
