The Gas Cylinder Operator I will assist in the cylinder requalification and repair process and manually and/or with the aid of material handling equipment move industrial gas cylinders to different areas of the plant and loads/unloads cylinders from delivery trucks. Adhere to and support compliance with the Code of Conduct/Handbook, policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards established by Federal, State and other applicable agencies or regulating bodies. Pioneer the way within the Airgas culture – putting safety first. We are looking for someone to safely operate forklift, hand-truck, pallet-jack, chain hoist, etc. to load/unload compressed and liquid industrial gas cylinders to and from delivery trucks to filling and storage areas. You may load cylinders onto vehicles manually or with the aid of material handling equipment. Transfer plant cylinders to different areas within the facility using a forklift. Collaborate to organize and streamline cylinders for efficient refilling and handling. Nurture open communication by notifying your supervisor if normal truck loading duties cannot be completed effectively for any reason. Replace pallet straps as necessary. Maintain accurate load sheets and distribute to drivers at the end of shift. Support the team by reporting any equipment or facility defect(s) to your supervisor. Help keep the team safe by ensuring any accident or injury is promptly reported. Perform cylinder cleaning, painting and general maintenance when needed. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Must be able to work in a drug-free environment Be able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is preferred Minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or training preferred Must be customer service oriented and able to interact with fellow Associates in a professional manner Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be detailed-oriented with good organizational skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, MSDS, and procedure manuals Possess basic mathematic and written skills The hourly base pay range for this position in Nevada is $19.00 - $22.00.
