Senior Specialist, Electrical Engineer Job Code: 36888 Location: Rochester, NY Schedule: 5/8 - 8 hours per day, 5 days a week Job Description: The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated professionals responsible for supporting military communication products throughout their lifecycle. As a Product Support Engineer you will investigate a variety of problems related to Analog, Digital, and RF, diagnose to component level, determine solutions through experimentation and simulation, and implement corrective actions. You will collaborate across multifunctional teams to diagnose issues, assist in root cause analysis, troubleshoot prototypes, and ensure successful launch into full‑rate production. Typical Tasks Monitor daily factory yields, investigate failures, and determine corrective actions. Mitigate component shortages by selecting and qualifying alternatives or redesigning circuits. Determine design, process, and test improvements to increase yields and product quality. Work with cross‑functional teams to meet manufacturability, testability, and other DFx requirements for volume production. Collaborate with other engineering teams to make circuit changes before and during product launch. Mitigate component obsolescence throughout the product lifecycle. Provide guidance to junior staff on problem investigation. Lead investigations, coordinate tasks, and direct junior staff as required. Work with Quality and Supply Chain to address material discrepancies. Troubleshoot units, modules, and boards to the component level. Support digital and related analog hardware designs. Perform detailed analysis of analog, digital and RF circuitry. Essential Functions Hardware troubleshooting to component level for analog and digital circuits. Ability to work independently and within a team. Design and conduct engineering experiments and act upon test results. Design and analysis of circuits and components using simulation tools. Lead small technical design or troubleshooting teams, prioritizing tasks to meet delivery targets. Work in a fast‑paced environment interfacing with multiple teams. Use typical lab equipment: oscilloscope, DMM, spectrum & network analyzers, logic analyzers, and signal generators. Be a driven, problem‑solving individual willing to learn. Communicate technical information effectively to support staff. Obtain a US Security Clearance. Qualifications Bachelor’s EE degree and minimum 6 years of relevant experience; or Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years of related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, minimum 10 years of related experience in Electrical Engineering. Preferred Additional Skills Experience with tactical radios. Reading schematics and datasheets, probing circuits, understanding circuit operation. Troubleshooting circuit assemblies to component level. Selecting alternate electronic components and determining required qualification tests. Working knowledge of LabVIEW and Jira. Manufacturing environment experience. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range (NY State): $90,500 - $168,500. Final offer may vary based on experience and location.
