Senior Payroll Accountant

This Contract Fitness instructor will teach classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:45pm- 5:45pm at our Willowbrook DayRehab Center location (6705 South Kingery Highway; Willowbrook, IL) and 10-15 hours at our downtown fitness center (541 N Fairbanks; Chicago, IL). Looking for candidate that has experience teaching group exercise classes. Experience with disabilities is a plus. General Summary Reports to the Manager of Fitness Services of the Galvin Health and FitnessCenter and is responsible for assisting with development and coordination of fitness related programs offered by the RIC’s Center for Health and Fitness. Consistently demonstrates support of the RIC statement of Mission and Philosophy by striving for excellence, contributing to the team efforts and showing respect and compassion for patients and their families, fellow employees, and all others with whom there is contact at or in the interest of the institute. Principal Responsibilities Supervises the Fitness Center and related activities and ensures that participants adhere to all program policies and procedures. Lead instructor for adaptive fitness classes such as Integrated Exercise for Seniors, Integrated Exercise for Parkinson’s and Warm-Water Aerobics. Performs fitness evaluations for new and current members of the fitness program and writes proper exercise prescriptions for new members Orientates new clients to the fitness facility and teaches clients basic exercise principles. Supports implementation of Exercise Physiologist prescriptive programs. Facilitates and coordinates communication with volunteer staff of each of the fitness programs assigned. Ensures that exercise equipment is safe, clean and in proper working order. Assists Exercise Physiologists with advanced exercise testing such as VO2max testing, Biodex system 3 strength testing and Body Composition testing. Establishes safe and appropriate exercise programs for clients in the personal training program. Assists with Wirtz Sports Program and Kids Program as needed. Other Duties as assigned Reporting Relationships Reports to Manager of Fitness Services Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Current Nationally recognized personal training or group exercise instructor certification or higher required from an organization such as ACSM, NASM, or NSCA. Knowledge of current theory and practice in exercise for individuals with disabilities, different physical disabilities and rehabilitation normally acquired through completion of Associates or Bachelors degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Health Promotion, Adapted Physical Education, or Fitness Specialist. Ability to teach general exercise skills and general knowledge of exercise and weight equipment. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with participants and family members, RIC staff and community contacts. Supervisory skills necessary in order to implement and evaluate fitness activities. Basic organizational ability necessary to complete tasks. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting in order to maximize quality and efficiency of operations.
