Description NC Heart & Vascular is seeking a Clinical Nurse with Electrophysiology experience to join our team. This position supports physicians across multiple NC Heart and Vascular locations. The hours are 8 am-4:30 pm. This is a hybrid position. Summary Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and account‑able to the Nurse Coordinator and Practice Manager; the Clinical Device Nurse is responsible for reviewing and interpreting implantable cardiac device transmissions, triaging patient symptoms, facilitating treatment plans between the Physicians and patients, and reviewing pre‑procedure instructions for up‑coming electrophysiology procedures. Familiar with cardiac implantable devices including Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Abbott, and Biotronik. Responsibilities Education – participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self, attends education programs, uses patient education materials, assesses readiness to learn of the patient/family/caregivers, and evaluates developmental level and factors affecting ability to learn. Evaluation of care – identifies expected patient outcomes, seeks guidance for plan of care revision, participates in interdisciplinary discussion of patient care, and communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care. Implementation – demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems, performs bedside point‑of‑care testing, applies organization and nursing standards, prioritizes care, and consults resources for complex issues and high‑risk discharge planning. Leadership – develops goals for professional growth, achieves goals within time frames, collaborates across departments, participates in unit goals and performance improvement, uses communication systems, supports cost‑effective care, gives feedback, and promotes a safe and secure environment. Patient assessment – recognizes data from complex situations to determine care priorities, synthesizes assessment data, and anticipates discharge needs, fostering relationships that empower families. Planning – collaborates with patient/family to prepare or update plan of care, utilizes multidisciplinary resources, applies full range of communication for planning, addresses cultural and ethnic issues, and prioritizes tasks for complex patients. Research – reviews relevant journals, engages staff with ideas and questions for applicability to practice. Education Requirements Graduation from a school of professional nursing. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment and obtain a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date. Licensure and Certification Requirements Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. Professional Experience Requirements One (1) year of nursing experience.
