Position RN Clinical Nurse II – 4HV Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU), UNC Health Care, Raleigh, NC. About the Unit 20‑bed CICU on 4th floor of Heart and Vascular Hospital. Treats patients after non‑surgical cardiac procedures or acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and other cardiac conditions requiring critical care. Median patient age 67 years. Job Summary Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reports and is accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting. Responsibilities Education – participates in identifying and meeting learning needs, attends education programs, uses patient education materials, assesses readiness to learn. Evaluation of Care – identifies expected patient outcomes, seeks guidance on care plan, participates in interdisciplinary discussion, communicates relevant information. Implementation – demonstrates competence with complex patient problems, performs bedside point‑of‑care testing, follows organizational policies, prioritizes care, consults resources. Leadership – develops professional growth goals, participates in unit goals and improvement activities, promotes cost‑effective care, gives feedback, maintains a safe environment. Patient Assessment – recognizes complex data, synthesizes assessment, anticipates discharge needs, builds relationships with families. Planning – collaborates with patient/family to update care plans, uses multidisciplinary resources, addresses cultural issues. Research – reads relevant journals, shares ideas with staff. Qualifications Education Requirements: Graduation from a professional nursing school. Must be enrolled within four years if hired after January6,2014, and obtain a Bachelor’s degree (major in Nursing) within seven years. Licensure / Certification: Licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. Experience: One (1) year of nursing experience. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Not specified. Compensation Salary range: $33.88–$47.91 per hour, based on experience and internal equity.
