About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years of Emergency Department experience License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: 2 years of Emergency Department experience Description: Travelers will be expected to float throughout the designated area. The traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes floating feasible. Candidates must be in the state during the week of orientation. Attendance is critical; travelers cannot miss more than 3 shifts during a 13-week contract. A two-week notice must be submitted to avoid penalty fees. Travelers must float within the specified area and cover multiple facilities. Candidate schedules will be released 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Travelers will be expected to have flexibility in their schedules. Weekend and holiday requirements are every other. There is no call or standby requirement. Nurse to patient ratios will be 1:4-5, based on acuity. Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension. Supporting staff includes techs who assist nurses on the floor as well as in triage. Respiratory therapy will be available 24/7. Registered Nurses will be trained to perform point of care lab testing. Shifts will follow a 12-hour schedule, with leadership creating the schedule. Travelers are expected to adhere to the dress code of navy blue scrubs. Travelers must read and interpret telemetry strips.
