This role focuses on the precise disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of complex data center hardware and equipment. You will work with server racks and related mechanical components, using torque tools and following detailed engineering drawings and work instructions to ensure every unit meets strict quality and compliance standards. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to perform highly detailed mechanical assembly and rework in a fast-paced industrial production environment.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and reassemble complex data center hardware, server racks, and related equipment according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Remove and reinstall rack doors, panels, brackets, and other mechanical components while adhering to specified assembly processes.
• Utilize torque tools and apply correct torque specifications to ensure proper and secure assembly of all components.
• Inspect every bolt, fastener, bracket, and mechanical component for quality, accuracy, and compliance with documented procedures.
• Perform detailed mechanical assembly, rework, and adjustments on highly complex units to meet quality and performance standards.
• Follow engineering drawings, written work instructions, and quality procedures with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
• Identify and promptly report damaged, missing, or non-conforming parts and components encountered during assembly or disassembly.
• Conduct visual inspections and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet required specifications.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in an industrial production and data center environment.
• Support continuous improvement and productivity initiatives by following established processes and suggesting improvements when appropriate.
• Lift, move, and position equipment and components as required to complete assembly and disassembly tasks.
• Work extended hours, including mandatory overtime, to meet project schedules and data center availability.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in manufacturing, maintenance, mechanical assembly, industrial repair, or equipment maintenance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with comfort using hand tools, power tools, and torque tools in an industrial environment.
• Proven experience disassembling and rebuilding equipment, machinery, or mechanical systems.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and assembly processes.
• Strong attention to detail with a consistent commitment to quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial and data center environment.
• Familiarity with torque specifications and applying them correctly during assembly.
• Understanding of basic quality control processes and visual inspection techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical experience as a maintenance technician, industrial maintenance technician, mechanical technician, automotive technician, aircraft mechanic, or in a similar mechanical role.
• Experience working with server racks, data center equipment, electronics manufacturing, or other complex mechanical assemblies.
• Comfort working in a very physical role that involves lifting, moving, and positioning equipment and components.
• Ability to travel for short-term training and adapt quickly to new processes and procedures.

Work Environment

You will work primarily in a data center setting, supporting an industrial production environment focused on server racks and related hardware. The assignment is expected to last approximately 8–10 weeks, with daily hours ranging from 8 to 10 depending on data center availability. Mandatory overtime is required, and the position is very physical, involving frequent lifting, moving, and positioning of equipment and components. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn as directed. You will report to a West Chester facility for project coordination while performing work at a data center location in Morrisville, PA. New hires will travel to Memphis, Tennessee for the first three days of training before starting work at the project site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
