JMT is currently ranked #45 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.Position summary: Project team member responsible for: (1) providing construction project oversite for rail/transit clients using knowledge of general engineering and construction principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute assignments as necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives defined by the client, (2) ensuring work is performed and completed in strict accordance with the contract documents, (3) acting as a technical advisor to the Owner and other team members, (4) teaching and mentoring less experienced engineers and other team members, and (5) other tasks as may be required.Responsible for delivering for assigned projects including; scope, schedule and budget.Compensation for this position is $110,000.00 - $176,800.00, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.Essential functions and responsibilities:Develop Project Management Plans (PMP) for assigned projectsProvide construction management oversight during all phases of the projectCreate and maintain project schedulesPrepare and update cost estimates and prepare and maintain project budgetsAssist in performing constructability reviewsPrepare correspondences and formal responses to the contractor as it relates to submitted Notice of Impact, change in directives, claim merits, non-compliance notices, etc.Develop and implement project specific QA programsPrepare and submit monthly progress reports and prepare meeting minutes and distribute to attendees no later than one (1) week after the meetingManage sub-consultants and technical resourcesCoordinate and interface with the client and project teamMaintain full familiarity with plans, specifications, construction schedules, and contractor's plans on assigned contracts, the Project Management Plan (PMP), and current safety regulations in order to be knowledgeable of the project teamProvide subject matter expertise and support development of design and construction contract documents (including solicitation documents). Development of bridging documents, proposal evaluations, and award recommendations as neededProvide technical analysis and review of all requests for changes submitted by the design consultant and/or construction contractorAssign other technical and administrative personnel appropriate for the scope and general level of effort required to meet the performance commitmentsPrepare, monitor and update schedules and budgetsReview and approve contractor invoicingPrepare client invoicesParticipate in client presentationsCoordinate and assist Section Heads, Office Managers, and Service Line Leaders with marketing proposalsLead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of teamNonessential functions and responsibilities:Perform other related duties as assignedRequired Skills:Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsStrong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job doneRequired Experience:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural or a related field from an accredited engineering, construction management or architectural program15+ years' experience in a construction related disciplineRegistered Professional Engineer in VA, MD, or DCExperience with Microsoft 365® including Power BI, and ProcorePreferred Experience:CCM or PMP certificateLEED APOSHA CertificationsExperience working with city, county state or federal governmental agenciesProject management and business development experienceExperience with various project delivery methods i.e. Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3Experience managing multidiscipline project teamsWorking Conditions:Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 25% to 75% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
