What You'll Do Serve as the primary hands-on software developer for the engineering team. Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications and backend services. Lead implementation of complex technical solutions from design through deployment. Provide day-to-day technical leadership for a small software engineering team. Mentor junior and mid-level software engineers. Participate in architecture and technical design discussions. Perform code reviews and promote software engineering best practices. Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend services. Develop reliable integrations with enterprise systems and databases. Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes for enterprise data integration. Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and database issues. Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and project leadership. Participate in Agile planning, estimation, sprint execution, and continuous improvement activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering from an accredited university or college. 8+ years of professional software development experience. Strong Java development experience. Strong Python development experience. Experience designing scalable backend applications and distributed systems. Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs. Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases. Experience integrating enterprise applications and external APIs. Experience designing and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes. Experience using Git in collaborative development environments. Experience working with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and common software design patterns. Experience mentoring software engineers and leading technical discussions. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications React and/or Next.js for modern web application development. Python with FastAPI or similar modern API frameworks. Java and Spring Boot for enterprise application development. Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse technologies. PostgreSQL or other enterprise relational database platforms. Designing and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes and enterprise data integration pipelines. Asynchronous or distributed processing using technologies such as Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus, AWS SQS, or similar messaging and worker queue platforms. Designing scalable RESTful API architectures supporting high-concurrency workloads. Containerization using Docker and modern deployment practices. CI/CD pipelines and automated software delivery.
