The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for maintaining sterile instruments and equipment for surgical procedures. The role includes decontaminating, reprocessing, and sterilizing surgical instruments. Aseptic techniques and knowledge of high-level disinfection processes are essential. Candidates should be familiar with automated endoscope reprocessors and biological indicators. Experience with various surgical instruments and equipment is required. Strong organizational skills are necessary for managing instrument trays and case carts. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to safety and infection control standards. Weekend call coverage may be required on an as-needed basis. Candidates must be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively. Interdisciplinary support and collaboration with healthcare professionals are key components of this position.
