Supervisory Responsibilities:

The person in this role will manage a team of approximately 15 to 35 employees. Recruits and retains high-performing team members to ensure exceptional customer support. Coaches and develops staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Lead daily operations for an assigned area to achieve targets in Safety & People, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and inventory performance.
• Promote a safety-first culture by identifying hazards, completing safety walks, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, and taking prompt corrective action on risks and incidents.
• Drive adherence to standard work and ensure work is performed using documented procedures, proper tools, and established quality and safety requirements.
• Use visual management, Gemba boards, and daily process improvement dialogues to monitor performance, escalate issues, and support timely problem resolution.
• Maintain visible leadership presence on the production floor, practicing go-see-act leadership to remove barriers, support the team, and verify conditions firsthand.
• Ensure production schedules are executed to plan, balancing staffing, machine capacity, materials, and workflow to meet client commitments and schedule attainment goals.
• Monitor process performance and quality results; initiate stop-to-fix actions when needed to contain issues, identify root cause, and implement sustainable countermeasures.
• Support waste elimination and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, participating in kaizen activities, and implementing improvements that increase flow, reduce variation, and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate changeovers, setups, and equipment readiness to support efficient operations, minimize downtime, and improve throughput.
• Ensure timely and accurate production, labor, and payroll reporting, and maintain records needed to support operational and people management processes.
• Develop, coach, and hold team members accountable through training, feedback, recognition, and performance management, building capability and engagement across the team.
• Partner cross-functionally with maintenance, quality, manufacturing engineering, planning, and HR to resolve issues, improve performance, and support business objectives.
• Uphold company policies and employment practices, including attendance, timekeeping, performance, corrective action, and employee relations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory performance.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and waste elimination; experience participating in or leading kaizen activities preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of standard work, process discipline, and visual management tools such as Gemba boards, production boards, or other performance tracking systems.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to identify root causes, implement countermeasures, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Ability to lead from the floor through active observation, coaching, and timely response to production, quality, staffing, and safety issues.
• Strong interpersonal, coaching, and accountability skills, with the ability to build team capability, reinforce expectations, and support employee development.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to conduct effective shift handoffs, team meetings, and cross-functional communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with production, labor, or workflow systems such as Foundation is a plus.
• Bilingual fluency in Vietnamese, Cambodian, or Spanish is highly desirable.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or additional coursework in manufacturing, operations, business, engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment with increasing responsibility for performance, staffing, and workflow execution.
• Minimum 2 years of experience leading or supervising employees in a production setting, including coaching, performance management, and shift or team coordination.
• Experience working with safety, quality, and production performance metrics in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Exposure to Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, standard work, root-cause problem solving, or visual management practices is strongly preferred.
• Experience in direct mail, print, fulfillment, packaging, or other high-volume production environments is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work consecutively 12-hour shifts, rotating 3 or 4 days per week including weekend rotations.
• Availability for after-hours support when needed.
• Standard climate-controlled production environment; exposure to loud noise (PPE provided).
• Ability to lift, carry and push/pull up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, pivot, crouch, squat, kneel, and stoop for up to 12 hours.
• Upper extremity motion requirements: fine motor movements, pushing/pulling with arms, grasping and pinching.
• Lower extremity motion requirements: reaching.
• Pre-employment post-offer physical assessment required.

Salary:
The starting salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000.
