Production Supervisor - Overnight Shift

Position Summary Bongards Premium Cheese is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Operations Leader to serve as a Production Supervisor on the Night shift at our Norwood, MN location. The role focuses on overseeing plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, and sanitation standards, and leading a team to meet production goals. Responsibilities Oversee plant operations on the assigned shift to achieve production, safety, quality, and sanitation objectives. Maintain the highest standards of quality, product safety, and employee safety throughout the facility. Attend production, safety, and quality meetings as required and coordinate with support departments to reach business goals. Partner with Human Resources on talent management, performance reviews, talent acquisition, and employee timekeeping. Keep the facility in an audit‑ready state for customers and regulatory agencies. Train and coach production line employees, manage shift labor assignments, coordinate time off, breaks, and overtime scheduling. Coordinate production start‑ups, shutdowns, changeovers, and trial runs. Ensure product quality during the shift, make adjustments as needed, and hold products outside specifications. Update SOPs with relevant departments as needed and retrain employees. Carry out disciplinary actions for attendance and other violations, consulting Human Resources when necessary. Report all food safety and quality concerns to the immediate supervisor or designated replacement. Perform any additional duties assigned by the Production Manager. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in food manufacturing, or equivalent mix of education and experience. Strong integrity and professionalism in interactions with all employee levels. Ability to assess issues, make quick decisions, implement solutions, and drive change. Strong project management skills. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Experience in the food processing industry. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Working Conditions Work takes place in a food manufacturing environment with extended periods of sitting, standing, and computer use. Light lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Occasional weekend or evening work and up to 10% travel may be necessary. Benefits Annual salary ranging from $85,000 to $98,000. Medical, prescription drug, and vision coverage.
