More about our team The Surgery Department at North Alabama Shoals Hospital offers RNs a supportive, patient-focused environment where teamwork and high-quality care are at the center of everything they do. How you'll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: You'll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing. * Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities. * Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner. * Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. * Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation). * Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs). * Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education. * Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. * Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education. * Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call. * Performs other duties as assigned. What we're looking for : Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include: * Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred * Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire. * Requires one year of nursing experience.
