Rental Counter Person/Customer Service

Country True Value Rental is looking for qualified and motivated people to join our team. We are looking for individuals to work at our equipment rental/service counter. Must be professional and courteous as this job requires constant interaction with customers. Must have experience and knowledge of construction equipment and general tools;specifically earth moving equipment, aerial equipment, lawn and garden equipment and hand and power tools. Basic computer skills are a must. Responsibilities Rents equipment or arranges for provision of service to customer Prepares rental forms and contracts, obtains customer signature and other information as required Explains rental fees and provides information about rented items such as operation or description Answers telephone and receives orders by phone Recommends items to customers to meet their demands Reserves items for requested time and maintains reservation file Cleans showroom and equipment. Arranges showroom displays. Keeps shelves organized, stocked and clean. Inventories retail sales merchandise and advises supervisors of low levels of merchandise Assist customer with the loading and unloading of equipment when necessary. May also need to demonstrate operational and safety features of the equipment. May fill customers propane cylinders from time to time Resolves customer problems Report safety violations to supervisor Prep new equipment that has been sold to customers Write work orders for power equipment that is coming in for repair Cut keys, glass and plexi glass for customers Sharpen chainsaw blades and lawn mower blades Lookup parts and write up orders for customers Fix windows and screens Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form. Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store Attend department, store and safety meetings Perform other duties as requested Working Conditions Must be able to come to work with a positive and energetic attitude. Must be able to work in a team environment. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. The job requires constant interactions with the public and may have exposure to chemicals including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, kerosene and cleaning solvents. Must be able to work one weekend day. Schedule is 4 weekdays plus one weekend day.
