Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department for patients requiring rapid response and trauma intervention. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and compliance with hospital protocols during all shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Administer emergency nursing procedures and treatments based on patient needs.
• Monitor patient status using GE monitors and Baxter pumps, documenting accurately in Cerner.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and respond to emergencies promptly.
• Adhere to hospital policies, including dress code, documentation, and floating protocols within ED sections.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members, demonstrating respect and professionalism.
• Maintain certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, and ENPC as required pre-hire and within specified timeframes.

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Level 2 trauma or high-volume ED, with at least 1 year in an emergency setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a team mentality.
• Possess advanced nursing skills and relevant certifications as specified.
• Flexibility to work every other weekend and float to all ED sections as needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to patient experience, including use of AIDET and respectful behavior.
