Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Medical Surgical Neurology for a facility located in Portland, Maine. This position involves caring for neurosurgical patients, such as those with spinal surgeries, spine fractures, brain tumors, seizure disorders, VP shunts, head bleeds, traumatic injuries, and joint replacements. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care within a busy neurology unit, supporting a team focused on patient recovery and safety.

• Location: Portland, Maine (Address: 22 Bramhall Street)
• Shift Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Number of Openings: 1
• Required Qualifications: No specific certification required; neuro experience necessary; education modules aligned with unit standards; must meet applicable licensing requirements.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with neurosurgical patients and neurology units.
• Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: This role may involve floating to other units as needed. The unit has 26 beds with patient ratios of approximately 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. The environment requires a proactive team player with a professional appearance, who can adapt to a fast-paced neurology setting. EMR system utilized is Epic. Scrub colors may vary, but a professional appearance is required.
