Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry at a healthcare facility located in Portland, Maine. This role involves providing patient-centered care on a unit that manages respiratory, medical telemetry, some surgical conditions, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and various acute and chronic medical conditions. The position requires a minimum of one year of clinical experience and offers a flexible schedule with day and night shifts.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with both day and night schedules available.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Valid RN Licensure in the state of Maine.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience.
  • Experience with ventilators, tracheostomy care, and telemetry strip interpretation is mandatory.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with respiratory and medical telemetry patients.
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, good communication, and patient-centered care.
• Additional Information:
  • Float requirements include floating to other IMC or medical-surgical units based on unit needs and skill level.
  • Equipment utilized includes ventilators, BiPaP, CPAP, nasal cannulas, non-rebreather masks, epidural pumps, IV pumps, specialty beds, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, and trach care/maintenance.
  • EMR system used is Epic.
  • Dress code requires scrubs; unprofessional attire or clothing with unrelated logos is not permitted.
  • The position is a replacement for permanent staff and involves a full-time schedule starting on 07/12/2026.
