Financial Controller (Multi-Entity: Wealth Management, Insurance, & Hospitality)

Job Summary

We are seeking an organized, adaptive, and highly professional Financial Controller to manage the full-cycle accounting and daily bookkeeping for our diverse portfolio of businesses. This mid-level role is ideal for an accounting professional with 3–5 years of hands-on experience who thrives in a dynamic, multi-faceted environment.

In this role, you will oversee the financial records for three distinct entities: our wealth management practice, our insurance agency, and our local restaurant/bar. Additionally, you will serve as a direct operational liaison for our wealth management firm's sports clientele, interfacing directly with professional sports franchises to gather critical financial and payroll data. This position requires an independent problem-solver with absolute discretion, polish, and strict attention to confidentiality.

Key Wealth Management & Sports Client Responsibilities

• Franchise Liaison: Interface directly with professional sports franchises (front offices, payroll departments, and team logistics) to securely gather contracts, salary information, escrow data, and tax documents for athlete and coaching clients.

• Fee Billing Execution: Run recurring client advisory fee billing cycles and reconcile custodial asset statements.
\n
• Advisor Payouts: Calculate and process advisor compensation splits, revenue shares, and payroll adjustments.
\n
• Compliance Bookkeeping: Organize and maintain financial records to support SEC, FINRA, or state regulatory filing standards.
\n

Key Insurance Entity Responsibilities

• Commission Reconciliation: Track, reconcile, and audit incoming carrier commission statements against policy management systems for accuracy.
\n
• Producer Compensation: Calculate and process monthly agent/producer commission payouts and production bonuses.
\n
• Direct & Agency Billing: Manage premium account reconciliations, ensuring proper allocation between direct bill receipts and agency bill accounts.
\n

Key Hospitality Responsibilities

• Daily Reconciliation: Audit and reconcile daily Point of Sale ( POS ) sales reports, credit card deposits, cash drops, and safe balances.
\n
• Inventory & COGS Tracking: Monitor weekly food and beverage invoices, tracking the Cost of Goods Sold ( COGS ) and volatile inventory margins.
\n
• Tip & Payroll Administration: Oversee hospitality payroll processing, ensuring accurate tracking of hourly wages, tip pools, and credit card tip distributions.
\n
• Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices for food, beverage, and linen distributors while managing payment schedules.
\n

Core Financial Duties

• General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain entirely separate bank accounts, general ledgers, and books for each of the three individual entities.
\n
• Month-End Close: Execute month-end and year-end close procedures to generate accurate balance sheets and profit and loss ( P&L ) statements per entity.
\n
• Audit-Ready Books: Keep all financial records, receipts, and bank reconciliations highly organized so they are ready to hand off cleanly to our external CPA.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 3–5 years of progressive, professional full-cycle accounting or bookkeeping experience.
\n
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field.
\n
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online (or similar multi-entity platforms), Microsoft Excel, and modern POS platforms.

• Key Traits: Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding high-profile client information. Exceptional communication skills for professional front-office interactions, and the ability to pivot seamlessly between different business structures.
