About Facility: Level II Trauma Center Level III NICU Magnet Designated Comprehensive Stroke Center Beds: 933 Unit Information: Beds: 30 Census: Average patients/day: Minimum Years of Experience required: 3 years of ICU experience with 1-year CVICU experience Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes, as long as they meet above criteria Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Cardiac: Immediate post-op CABG, TAVR/TMVR, valve repairs/replacement, heart transplants, Pacemakers (epicardial, transvenous) Thoracic surgeries: Fresh post op esophagectomy, pneumonectomy, lobectomy Vascular: Fresh post-op AAA, TVAR, carotid endarterectomy Patient Ratios: RN: 1:1, 1:2 if regular ICU status, 1:3 mixed status Tech: 1:8-10 Required License, National Certification, Certs:

BLS, ACLS

CCRN preferred Skills required: Competent in invasive line monitoring (Swan Ganz, a-lines), pacemakers (epicardial, TV), chest tubes, cardiac medications (inotropes, vasopressors, sedation/paralytics), ventilator/trach management, cardiac rhythm interpretation RN draw out of invasive lines; not allowed to do peripheral sticks EPIC experience Prefer travelers with specific CV surgical experience (ECMO, CVVH, IABP, VAD) Support within the Department: Charge nurse, rarely with patient assignment

After NEO, will be placed on the unit with a preceptor Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Every other On call: No Holiday Expectations: 1-2 per contract Approval of RTO: ok to approve up to 7 days Shift times: 0700-1900 or 1900-0700 Schedule cycle: 6-week schedule. Will receive 1-2 weeks prior to schedule beginning AAH adheres to a fatigue policy where all staff, including travelers, cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts.
