Position Summary The City of Henderson is creating an eligibility list and filling one (1) vacancy for the classification of Plumber in the Department of Public Works. The role involves installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of plumbing equipment, mechanical systems, fixtures, and piping in City buildings and facilities, along with related duties as assigned. External candidates and probationary employees will start at the first step of the salary range if selected. Required Qualifications Graduation from high school or equivalent Three (3) years of qualified journey level plumbing experience Equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered Valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license Current and valid journeyman certificate/card at the time of appointment American Water Works Association (AWWA) Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certificate within six (6) months of appointment, and maintenance as a condition of continued employment Nationwide fingerprint-based record check and warrants check Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and annual recertification; maintained as a condition of continued employment All required licenses and certificates as mandated by state and federal laws must be obtained and maintained at the incumbent's expense Documents Required at the Time of Application Completed Employment Application Copy of current and valid journeyman certificate/card Assessment Dates Performance Examination (Weighted 50%) – Tuesday, July 21, 2026 Structured Selection Interviews (Weighted 50%) – Tuesday, July 21, 2026 (for candidates passing Performance Examination Only) #J-18808-Ljbffr
