Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients within the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), supporting recovery and stabilization post-surgery. Ensures patient safety, promotes quality improvement, and collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Render professional nursing care aligned with hospital policies, medical staff directives, and professional standards.
• Complete clinical documentation and care plans accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicate patient status effectively during handoffs, rounds, and physician interactions to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, reporting errors, and addressing safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with procedures such as insertion of flow wires, IVUS, and medication administration including procedural sedation, following policies and guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members across units to resolve issues, provide support, and promote respectful relationships.

Qualifications:

• Current New Hampshire RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; CPI training preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years critical care experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in dysrhythmia recognition and management; NHISS certification preferred.
• Ability to safely administer procedural sedation and demonstrate contraindications and reversal steps for IV adenosine infusion.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent experience.
