• Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care RN experience; first-time travelers must meet the 2-year federal hospital experience requirement

Pay & Benefits:

What You'll Do:

• Provide direct patient care for a diverse range of medical conditions including AFIB, DKA, HTN, COPD, CVA/TIA, post-surgical patients, and more
• Monitor and manage patients in a 24-bed unit, maintaining safe nurse-to-patient ratios
• Administer titratable IV medications (e.g., Cardene, Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin) with manager approval if experience is lacking
• Support patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, documentation, and interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and specialist clinicians
• Utilize EMR (Meditech Expanse) and medical equipment such as IV pumps (Alaris) and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Assist with procedures such as chest tube management, tracheostomy care, lumbar drains, and support cardiac and neuro assessments
• Adhere to strict safety protocols, including uniform and badge requirements
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training as scheduled

What You Need:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care RN experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Skills: Ability to manage titratable IV medications, support complex patient needs (preferred but not required)
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays, with scheduled time off requesting approval
