Senior Full Stack Developer

Salary: $83,200 - 83,200 per year Requirements:

• 10 or more years of experience shipping production web applications, including recent production work with React and TypeScript.
• At least 2 years leading a team or setting technical direction.
• Demonstrated ownership of backend systems and infrastructure, including database schemas and migrations, and responsibility for production issues.
• Strong HTML5, CSS3, accessibility, responsive design, JavaScript (ES6+), and web fundamentals, including REST, authentication, authorization, cookies, sessions, and CORS.
• Fluency in most of our modern stack: Next.js 15, React, strict-mode TypeScript, Postgres, Supabase, Drizzle ORM, Upstash Redis, tRPC, Inngest, Resend, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui.
• Sound engineering practices, including maintainable code, meaningful tests, security awareness, performance optimization, debugging, documentation, and clear commit messages.
• Experience with Git workflows, CI/CD, deployment, caching, background processing, API design, monitoring, and logging. Vercel experience is relevant; Docker, AWS, or GCP experience is welcome.
• Practical skill with Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI-assisted development: review generated code, provide useful context, maintain team guidance, recognize limitations, and build evaluations for AI-powered features.
• High agency, systems thinking, ownership, independence, and sound judgment about complexity and technical tradeoffs.
• Helpful additional experience includes SaaS or multi-tenant applications, incident response and on-call work, monorepos such as Turborepo or pnpm, and agency or client services.
• This hands-on role is not suited to someone seeking a non-coding management position or who relies on detailed tickets, works only in one layer of the stack, or lacks deployment-pipeline and database-migration experience.

• Build and deliver production client applications end to end, from schemas, APIs, business logic, authentication, and background jobs through user interfaces and deployment.
• Set application architecture, including database design, migrations, caching, rate limiting, third-party integrations, and service boundaries.
• Plan and maintain application infrastructure, deployment environments, hosting, CI/CD pipelines, databases, and supporting services, with reliability, scalability, and security in mind.
• Scope requirements, break work into epics and tickets, estimate effort, and sequence team dependencies.
• Lead sprint planning and keep work on track by assigning, reviewing, and adjusting work while maintaining quality under deadlines.
• Review and audit code to identify defects, security vulnerabilities, and performance issues before production.
• Mentor developers through constructive feedback and communicate technical plans, tradeoffs, and timelines to nontechnical stakeholders.
• Establish team conventions and maintain project guidance, reusable AI skills, scaffolding, and reference implementations.
• Challenge problematic requests and propose better approaches.
• Use AI tools to accelerate implementation, review every line of generated code, and create evaluations for AI-powered features.
• Monitor applications, triage errors, address performance, maintain documentation, and take responsibility for work beyond explicitly assigned tasks.

We are hiring a Senior Full Stack Developer for a full-time remote, contract-to-hire role paying $40 per hour. The initial contract lasts six months, with the possibility of full-time employment afterward. You will help set technical direction while remaining hands-on in the codebase every day; our primary stack is Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Postgres, and we use Claude Code and Cursor as core development tools.
