Field Service Technician - Heavy EquipmentHolt CAT, the largest Caterpillar dealer of heavy construction equipment in the United States, is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician for the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas Region. The Field Service Technician's primary role is to conduct exceptional field service repairs, which include addressing problems such as emissions, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, HVAC, and electrical issues on heavy construction equipment like dozers, backhoes, front-end loaders, and excavators. Hours for this position will be Monday thru Friday 7am to 5pm, must be able to work overtime. Must have a valid driver license and a good driving record. Related construction equipment experience is preferred for this role. Must be able to obtain a CDL Class B. Must maintain a DOT medical Card. Participate in ongoing self-development.Essential FunctionsAbility to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair construction equipment using electronic and manual equipment to determine failure.Able to document all work orders properlyMust be able to troubleshoot and diagnose Tier 4 emission systems.Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose EGR systemsWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsPerforms intermediate repairs and troubleshooting offsite with minimal supervisionPerforms intermediate troubleshooting, diagnoses of equipment malfunctions, and failure analysisRemoves and installs parts, disassembles and assembles components to CAT specificationsTests, makes adjustments, and verifies proper operation of all repairs and adjustmentsPrepares and completes all job related documents, writes service reports, orders parts, and maintains clear customer records; in addition, accesses databases required to complete jobActs as a team leader and mentors/coachesParticipates in the quotation of work ordersOperates equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificatesMaintains service vehicle inspection records, daily inspections and driver logs as required by the Department of TransportationAdheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulationsMaintains all company equipment, tools, and vehicle in a good, clean, and working orderCommunicates job progress to supervisor and customer as neededCompletes assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate time and re-work standardsWorks overtime as required by workload and customers' needsCompletes all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training in a timely and proficient mannerProjects professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance; uses time efficiently; plans for additional resourcesOperation and control skills of construction equipment or systemsEquipment selection skills to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a jobAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to operate a crane and forklift, and obtain required certifications/licensesAbility to meet deadlines and work under fast-paced, time constraining circumstancesAbility to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repairThe ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objectsRequirementsEducation and Experience:· More than four years of heavy equipment experience required; six or more years preferredMust be able to use CAT ET and CAT SIS2.0· MSHA certification preferred · Air conditioning certification preferred · Must be able to properly and efficiently troubleshoot and diagnose emission systemsSupervisory Responsibilities:NoneTravel:Travel required with a possibility of an overnight stayAdditional Requirements:· Valid Driver's license required · Ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and must have an acceptable driving record · Must own required tools to perform repairsPhysical Requirements:· Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue · Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 80 lb · Constant movement and use of limbs;
