Utilization Review Coordinator

The Utilization Review Coordinator evaluates patient medical records to determine severity of patient's illness and the appropriateness of level of care. Serves as liaison for patients and facility with insurance companies. Negotiates and advocates for patient length of stay and level of care. Coordinates utilization review activities with other departments to ensure reimbursement for services provided by the facility. Promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Cedar Ridge. Performs duties in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards.

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient and residential treatment services for youth ages 5-17, as well as inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services for adults ages 18+. Our treatment programs provide a structured and supportive treatment environment that promotes self-acceptance and helps stabilize patients suffering from acute psychiatric illness. Our multidisciplinary treatment teams consist of psychiatrists, licensed therapists and highly specialized nurses who collaborate to develop and implement effective and compassionate treatment plans for our patients. Cedar Ridge is a behavioral health facility that encompasses a 206-bed acute psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center on a beautifully wooded campus with a stocked pond, school, gym, outdoor courtyard and playground.

Qualifications: 3-5 years of clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population, bachelor's degree required (preferably in social work or related field), MSN or MSW preferred, licensed therapist or social worker (LPC/LCSW) preferred, must be at least 21 years of age, successfully complete a drug test, successfully pass a national background check, strong computer skill, excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills, exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior, potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste. The ideal candidate is dependable, empathetic, compassionate and must be reliable.
