Spherion Gainesville, FL has a reputable, local client seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician with hands-on skills in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and repairing mechanical, electrical and facility systems. The ideal candidate is a reliable team player who responds quickly to maintenance needs, follows safety procedures, and enjoys keeping equipment and work areas running smoothly!

Position: Temporary to Hire

Location: Alachua, Florida

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00/hr

Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair:

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance (PM) on machinery, equipment, and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues.
• Interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Assist with PM and repairs on mechanical equipment (engines, motors, pneumatic tools, production equipment) following diagrams and safety guidelines.
• Install, assemble, or repair furniture, fixtures, and appliances.

Operations & Safety:

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency calls.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization (5S) in maintenance areas.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company EHS policies.

Skills

- Employee must frequently lift and move over 50 pounds.

- Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

- The job involves consistent loud noises and requires wearing appropriate PPE.

Qualifications

- High School diploma or GED required

- Minimum of 1-4 years of related professional work experience is a plus

- Able to work in a manufacturing production environment and occasional outdoor work may be required in all weather conditions
