What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients
• Access fistulas and dialysis catheters, demonstrating critical thinking and technical skills
• Float between multiple facilities, maintaining flexibility and independence
• Complete charting in Meditech Expanse EMR
• Collaborate with charge nurses and support staff to ensure quality patient outcomes
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols
• Work independently on assigned units and units' specialized water systems

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications (CDN or CNN preferred)
• Minimum 1 year inpatient dialysis experience; 2 years for first-time travelers
• Strong critical thinking and technical skills
• Ability to travel between facilities and work efficiently independently
• Familiarity with dialysis equipment (BBraun machines)
• Experience with EMR systems; knowledge of water machine functionality is a plus

About the Assignment This assignment is with a leading healthcare facility in Shreveport, LA, providing dialysis services across multiple locations. The role involves floating between facilities, maintaining high standards of patient care, and working within a dynamic team environment. The schedule features a flexible four-week cycle, including every other weekend rotation, holiday coverage, and call shifts. A comprehensive orientation program is provided to ensure smooth integration.
